TEA, CAKE AND CHAT -The T.C.C. group held their November meeting at the Norton Manor Hotel. The group was made very welcome, as usual, by Marina and Lisette Phillips, who served tea and cake. BOWLING CLUB - Presteigne Bowling Club has arranged three special Prize and Cash Bingo Evenings in the run-up to Christmas at the Memorial Hall on Saturdays, November 29, December 6 and December 13. Doors will open at 6.30 pm.
FILM FANS - Presteigne Film Society is showing Roam Polanski's acclaimed The Pianist in the Assembly Rooms, tomorrow (Friday). On the following Friday, November 28, Flicks-in-the-Sticks, is presenting Rabbit-Proof Fence in Lingen Village Hall at 7.30 pm.
ASSEMBLY ROOMS - On Thursday, November 27, Mid Border Arts presents The Dodo Diaries - Bocadalupa, in the Assembly Rooms, at 7.30 pm. Booking on 01544 257163. On Saturday evening, November 29, the Assembly Rooms are the venue for a concert by The Dewar Trio. Their programme will include works by Beethoven, Dohnanyi and Mozart - with a special guest appearance by David Powell in Mozart's celebrated Oboe Quartet. Booking on 01544 260577.
CARDIFF TRIP- Mangar International Social Club has arranged a Christmas shopping trip to Cardiff on Saturday, November 29. The bus will leave the Re-cycling Centre at 8am Contact Tracey Christopher (on 01544 260347) or Kirsty Roberts (on 01544 260645) evenings, after 6pm, for information and booking.
FLORAL ART - The Presteigne and Borders Floral Art Society has held two meetings. Jane Percival was welcomed back to lead a workshop on the design of modern arrangements, while Gloria Davies attracted a large gathering of enthusiasts for the meeting on November 12.
