LEOMINSTER'S mayor Janet Atkinson described the town's newly revamped bus station as "a wind tunnel" and called on the county council to improve shelters.
Herefordshire Council cabinet member for highways and transport, Mike Wilson, is being asked to visit the Westbury Street terminus to help sort out problems.
The facility re-opened last month following a £170,000 revamp but town councillors are being inundated with complaints.
Buffeted
The south-facing shelters are fully open at the sides and front and passengers say they are constantly buffeted by the prevailing wind and rain while waiting for buses.
"There have been a lot of complaints since the weather changed," Councillor Pauline Davies told the town council on Monday
Mayor Atkinson said the site was a wind tunnel and she thought fitting windshields on the end of shelters could make a difference.
Other councillors had complaints about 'poor' seating and positioning of shelters and pedestrian crossings. They were reminded that the town council had been shown the plans for the bus station upgrade before work started.
