WHILE I may not be qualified to answer the question "Who runs the Wye?" (Hereford Times, November 6), I am quite sure it should not be Herefordshire Council.
On September 1, I wrote to the Chief Executive to comment on the state of the river and its bank adjacent to the tennis courts.
A month later, not having received an acknowledgement to my letter let alone an answer, I wrote again to remind them I was still awaiting a reply. I am still waiting!
My experience suggests that the council lost interest in the river months ago. I only hope that whoever takes over the stewardship of the river has a genuine interest in its well being ... and will be more professional in communicating with people of similar interest than is the council.
PETER DAINES,
Fownhope, Hereford.
