A 17-YEAR-old Newent youth charged with the murder of a 93-year-old woman has appeared at Gloucester Youth Court.
The teenager, of no fixed address, is accused of raping and killing Marjorie Harriet Davis, stealing her debit card and setting fire to her home at Alfords Farm, Upleadon, on September 3.
There are two further charges of using her credit card to obtain £200 and £50 from a Newent bank.
The case was adjourned until November 19 for committal papers to be prepared for Crown Court trial. No application was made for bail at the hearing on Wednesday, November 5.
