TWO goals in the final minutes saw Ledbury Town through to the semi-finals of the HFA Challenge Cup on Wednesday night at Stourport's ground.

WESTFIELDS 2, LEDBURY TOWN 3

The reigning West Midlands Premier Division champions and cup holders Westfields, who this season are mid-table in the Midland Alliance, started the stronger and opened the scoring in the 20th minute through Craddock.

Town's new 17-year-old goalkeeper Adam Penny then kept his side in the game with a brilliant save from Jefferson.

Ledbury looked better after the break and the in-form striker Robbie Colwell equalised in the 50th minute latching onto a good pass from Stuart Hall.

A double substitution by the Town saw Phil and Duncan Preedy introduced around the hour mark and the game soon swung Ledbury's way as Westfields had two players booked and substitute Price straight red-carded for virtually his first tackle of the match.

Ledbury took charge of the game and further goals looked on the horizon but the Town suffered a setback when they were caught square at the back and Powell pulled down an attacker in the box. Hibbert put away the spot kick to give Westfields the lead again.

Ledbury were still dominating the game but could not break through but with three minutes left, Duncan Preedy latched onto a ball and fired home a powerful shot from well outside the box to put Ledbury level.

More drama was still to come as Robbie Cowell intercepted Westfields' kick-off, beat three players and played the ball wide to Duncan Preedy. He rounded the full back and squared the ball to brother Phil who scored to put Ledbury through.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Ledbury Town are at home in the league when they host Coseley Town in a re-arranged game (2.45).
