Witney United 1 Ross Town 2
ROSS experienced a rare off day but still conjured up two late goals to snatch victory in the Cherry Red Records Hellenic League Division 1 West.
The Ross defence looked susceptible in the early stages and it came as no surprise when an optimistic pass across the back line was intercepted by Rick King who fired the opener past the stranded Richard Newman.
With Ross struggling to put their game together, it was fortunate that the home side had failings of their own in front of goal or else they might well have been out of sight by the interval.
Ross improved after the break but lacked their usual cohesion. Event-ually, on 80 minutes, Jamie Warwick broke free on the left and his shot was palmed out by the goalkeeper into the path of Kevin MacDonnell who coolly levelled the scores.
Then, in stoppage time, Dave Skipp and Warwick set up Simon Gwilliam to net the winner to extend Ross' unbeaten run to 15 games.
