CHRISTMAS FAIR - The Chamber of Trade is planning the Llanandras Christmas Fair which will take place on Saturday, December 20. They plan that Father Christmas should arrive in town at 12 noon following his usual tour round the town in his horse and cart. His grotto will be in the Kings Head Stores, and he will be there until about 4.30pm. During the afternoon, the Chamber intends to provide continuous entertainment in the High Street. They already have commitments from Bandamania, the Whitton singers, the Twinning Association, the Judge's Lodgings, Mid Border Arts and St Andrews, and are talking to many other organisations and individuals in the town who have all expressed enthusiastic support. They have also booked Morris Dancers who will provide two performances during the afternoon. Father Christmas will then leave his grotto. A torchlit procession of children and adults will walk along the High Street down Broad Street and meet with his horse and cart by the church from where he will depart into the darkness across the Lugg bridge to his next destination. The Chamber of Trade hopes that everyone will support this event and come along and enjoy the entertainment and procession.
