THIS year's Children In Need slogan is "Step to it!", so it's appropriate that The Phoenix Theatre in Ross-on-Wye should use its production Stepping Out as a means of raising money for the charity.
Stepping Out chronicles six months in the lives of nine women and one man who attend a weekly tap dancing class in a north London church hall.
Attending the class is as much a means of therapy as anything, and the play details the challenge the group faces when the opportunity arises to perform in public.
There is also a parallel in that, in the play, the group is working towards a charity performance and, in reality, the company is donating the profits from Friday night's performance to Children In Need.
Stepping Out will run at the Phoenix Theatre from November 15-22. Tickets are available from the theatre (10.30-12.30 on 01989 564570) and at Ross Heritage Centre (10.30-4.30).
