FORMER National Hunt champion jockey Peter Scudamore and Richard Johnson, who is chasing the title this season, hosted a Hereford Cathedral Junior School charity dinner at Hereford Racecourse.
Both old boys of the school, they were joined by Robert Bellamy, an assistant trainer and clerk of the course at Warwick, and other former pupils at a racing evening which raised £5,000 for the Acorn's Children's Hospice.
The trio are all Herefordshire-born and Scudamore, a newspaper columnist, runs a training stable at Ross-on-Wye, while Johnson and Bellamy came to the function fresh from success at Chepstow.
Johnson rode a double on Brother Joe and Drom Wood, while Bellamy saddled a winner in Hasty Price.
