Colwall Thirds sealed the league title for the second year running with a comprehensive nine-wicket win over Worcester at Colwall.
COLWALL III v WORCESTER III
Needing just three points to top the Crusader Worcester-shire League Third Teams Double table Colwall dismissed a weakened Worcester side for a meagre 92 in 38.3 overs.
On a perfect batting track Worcester never looked like setting the champions elect a nervous total to chase with all Colwall bowlers keeping a good line and length.
Damian Dentith conceded only 22 runs from his opening spell of 12 overs ably supported by the effervescent Kevin Bayliss who bowled his 11 overs for just 27 runs.
However it was the introduction of doctor Colquhoun and his varying flight and spin that broke the back of the visitors batting line-up, taking four wickets for 15 runs off his nine overs.
In reply Colwall had an early setback as the consistent run machine Nils Purser got a rare duck. But the extremely improving 16-year-old Will Coomer displayed his array of strokes supported by the experienced Richard Williams, saw the champions home with scores of 51 and 33 respectively in the 17th over.
