CAKES, pies and music were the unlikely combination which helped raise more than £1,000 for the Ross-on-Wye support group of the Macmillan Cancer Relief charity.
The group held their annual sale at Ross market place and exceeded last year's total by raising a massive £1,637.
The hundreds of pies and cakes made by Peter and Christine Dowsett proved extremely popular as did Steve Turner's street organ, which added to the atmosphere and brought in more valuable funds for the cancer charity.
