MONMOUTH-born television personality Lisa Rogers will help the NSPCC on Sunday when she launches the annual Monmouth raft race in aid of the charity.
Lisa will take part in the grand send-off of more than 50 colourfully decorated rafts, due to set off from Monmouth Rowing Club in hope of a hero's welcome six miles along the river at the village of Whitebrook.
Plans have also been made to entertain many of the younger visitors to the event. A barbecue, tombola, bouncy castle and free face painting promises to make this year's Monmouth raft race a great family day out.
The funds raised from this event will go towards supporting the NSPCC's services for children and young people.
The NSPCC have 14 services in Wales including a service that provides an independent advocacy and representation service to children and young people who are in local authority care, based in Monmouth.
Donations can be made to the NSPCC directly by sending a cheque of postal order to: The Appeals Department, NSPCC Cymru-Wales, Capital Tower, Grayfriars Road, Cardiff. CF10 3AG. (Please note reference code RR on the back of your cheque).
