TENNIS CLUB -- In conjunction with the Eardisley Fire Brigade, the tennis club are holding a 'Red hot barbeque and skittle evening' at the club on Saturday from 5pm. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. Entry for the skittles' teams is £5 and there will be cash prizes. There will be a children's tennis tournament and lots more fun with plenty of food available. All proceeds will be split equally between Eardisley Tennis Club and the Fire Brigade Benevolent Fund.
QUIZ -- The club will be staging a quiz evening with a savoury supper and a glass of wine in the Eardisley Village Hall on Friday, September 19 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £4 for adults and £2.50 for children under 12 years. Prizes will be awarded down to third place. Tickets can be obtained from the post office.
ENTERTAINMENT -- An enjoyable evening with a hog roast/veggie snack was held at the Eardisley Park Farm. Strawberries and cream was followed by the clever and witty entertainment 'Three men in a bow tie'. Thanks are due to David Powell and John Morris for carving the meat, and to members and their families who helped in so many ways. As a result of this successful evening £1,100 was raised, which will go towards the preparation and painting of the two courts in September.
METHODIST CHURCH -- Preachers for the 11am services at the Eardisley Methodist Church this month are: September 7, Rev W Passman; September 14, Mr J Barry; September 21, Harvest Festival, Mrs C Fuller and September 28, Mr W Searby.
