Hereford City's relegation from the Crusader Worcestershire County League Division 2 was finally confirmed with a 40-run defeat at Worcester Nomads in their penultimate match.

The city club have been floundering near the bottom of the table for most of the campaign and a 13th loss rubber-stamped their demotion after just one season in Division 2.

Replying to the home club's challenging 208, Hereford's survival bid was shattered by medium-pacer Ian Jinks who finished with remarkable figures of 9-56.

Despite a battling 43 from the experienced David Mokler and 39 from Richard Wood, Hereford were shot out for 168 in 46.2 overs.

Previously, S Bowman (84) had been the mainstay of the Nomads innings, while Hereford's overseas player Runnel Agard bagged 5-41 and Phil Knight, 2-41, as the home side were bowled out in 49 overs.

Runaway champions Brockhampton romped to their 13th victory of a memorable season with a crushing 236-run home win over bottom club Oldswinford, who are also relegated to Division 3.

An opening stand of 150 between Graham Parker and James Mason put Brockhampton firmly in control and paved the way for the villagers' mammoth 327-4.

Parker made an excellent 94 and Mason struck 56 but late fireworks from Mohsin Arif, who blasted five sixes in a breezy unbeaten 84 piled on the agony for struggling Oldswinford, who have collected just one win this season.

As anticipated, the blistering pace of Pakistani Mahmood Malik proved far too much for the visitors' fragile batting line-up and Oldswinford plummeted to 6-4 early on.

Although the visitors staged something of a recovery, Malik (6-41) and veteran seamer Roy Wargen (4-39) polished off their innings for just 91 in 21 overs.
