Hereford Swimming Club's summer crash courses were a great success with over 80 children participating.
Experienced teachers taught groups of five children, ranging from beginners to improvers.
The scheme, called FISH (Feeder and Identification of Swi-mmers in Hereford), was designed to improve swimming skills and identify new talent.
A number of swimmers showing potential were invited to a follow-up free trial period with the club.
Many parents express-ed their pleasure in the tremendous improvement in their child's stroke technique with many children learning the secrets to streamlining and swimming with skill and ease.
The club plans to repeat the crash courses in future years, and, in the meantime, if any child is interested in joining the swimming club they can go to the Leisure Pool on Saturday morning at 8am or Tuesday evening at 4.30pm for a free trial.
FISH lessons will recommence as pure stroke technique classes from October and bookings can be made on Tuesday evenings at the Leisure Pool for a block course of six once-a-week lessons.
