Alvechurch 1 Westfields 1
WAYNE Hoskins netted the goal as Westfields came from behind to secure their first away point of the season in the Midland Alliance.
They created enough chances to win the game but paid the penalty for some hesitancy in front of goal.
The visitors opened strongly and had created a number of chances before going behind in the 17th minute. Kenny Fergie made the most of some slack marking to drive home from the edge of the box.
Westfields responded positively and, after a period of domination which saw them force five corners, they struck back to level 10 minutes before the break. Hoskins latched onto a Matt Beale cross, burst into the Alvechurch penalty area and drove past the keeper.
Despite still holding the upper hand, the visitors were indebted to keeper Jon Pugh for making one fine save to reach the interval at 1-1.
After the break it was Roy Jordan who was called on to clear off the line before they clicked into gear to dominate the rest of the game.
They used all three substitutes and continued to create openings but lacked the clinical touch in front of goal, and honours remained even.
