MADAM, I am an Old Herefordian in whose psyche Hereford United is deeply embedded.
In common with the other men in my family I was introduced to Edgar Street at an early age, my late father being a most devoted supporter.
The images of John Charles, Albert Derrick, Colin Addison, David Icke, Dudley Tyler, Ronnie Radford, Ricky George, Dixie McNeill, Eric Redrobe and many others too numerous to mention, loom large in my memories.
Unfortunately distance and circumstances have permitted my attendance at Edgar Street only very occasionally during the last two decades.
However, as I survey the Conference table after Monday's 4-3 win over Aldershot I am filled with nostalgia and am impelled to wish Graham Turner and the team the very best for the season.
It seems that we now have a real chance of success after many largely barren years.
I am encouraged by the attendance of 4,985 at Bank Holiday Monday's game and urge any wavering supporters to commit to the cause by passing through the turnstiles on matchdays.
I hope to join you in the near future.
