YOUR correspondent Mr Kenyon fears that prices may be rounded up if Britain adopts the euro.
When the euro was introduced here, many prices were rounded down, including fines for motoring offences! And 'Aldi' a popular supermarket chain, reduced all its prices.
Many prices are set at 0.99 or 9.99. In Germany 99 cents is more than 99 pfennig, but in Britain 99 cents is less than 99 pence, so I am sure very many prices would be reduced.
I can now travel to many other countries without worrying about changing my money. But it seems that almost every time I visit Britain, I find strange coins in my change - smaller 5ps, 10ps, 50ps and now a new £5 note.
