LEDBURY DUPLICATE BRIDGE CLUB

Thirty-nine pairs, a record for the club, took part in the duplicate event on July 20. The N/S winners were Brian Snell & David Magee with a score of 64.26. They were well ahead of the second pairing of Mary & Paul Clayburn with 59.72; the other leading pairs were: Ken Brookes & Steve Clegg, 57.89; Sue & Derrick Munday, 56.88; Geoffrey Herbert & Denis Reay, 54.53; Angela & Mike Lane, 54.14. In the E/W direction Martyn Moxley & Neville Shorrick scored a massive 71.74, one of the highest scores ever achieved at the club. They were followed by Pam Crisp & Jenny Clayphan, 56.7; Vera Garratt & Diana Roberts, 54.6; Betty O'Donnell & Mary Wollan, 53.77; Graham Ling & Brian Meadows, 53.6; Pauline & Mark Pharaoh, 52.23. Don't forget it is teams on September 3.
