Ledbury Rugby Club have called off their much-awaited friendly game against neighbours Malvern RFC tomorrow (Saturday) at Spring Lane.
Ledbury chairman John Wilesmith said: "We do not have enough players available to make a worthwhile squad.
"In these trial games you really need around 20 players and due to holidays and injuries we were nowhere near that.
"We didn't want to take a weak team over and get embarrassed so decided it was better to pull out. It appears that many people are away and still taking advantage of the good summer."
Ledbury will need to get themselves organised by next Saturday (September 6) when they are due to kick off their Midlands West Three South season at Ross Road with Shipston-on-Stour the visitors followed by a visit to Stratford-upon-Avon on September 13.
