Leominster CC staged the first indoor match at the North Herefordshire Cricket Centre of Excellence and declared the venture a success.
Bridge Street Sports Centre manager Matthew Smith arranged the trial at the new facilities with a view to running a winter league for teams in the area and asked Leomin-ster to provide two teams of six.
The trial game went well and Leominster chairman Steve Powis said: "As a club we are delighted with the way Bridge Street Centre and the Halo Trust are looking at cricket this year.
"The provision of an indoor facility is an excellent opportunity for cricket to progress, not only in the town but also in the county as a whole. The club are pleased to have helped the centre with this trial match and will assist the success of the winter league where we can."
Leominster will mark the end of their season with a fund-raining event at Bridge Street on Sunday, September 14. A match between the Chairman's Xl and a Combined Club Xl will be followed by a public barbecue on the bar terrace.
