AFTER two rain delays Hereford United hope it is going to be third time lucky in their FA Umbro Trophy clash with Hampton & Richmond at Edgar Street tonight (7.45).
The Bulls will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 1-0 Nationwide Conference defeat at the hands of Leigh RMI on Saturday.
Player/manager Phil Robinson is hoping his side put that display behind them and find their shooting boots to earn a place in the last 16.
Ryman League Premier Division opponents Hampton are treating it as their cup final according to Robinson and the Edgar Street boss is expecting a high tempo affair.
"We can play at a higher tempo and we will need to because Hampton are treating it as their cup final," he said. "They rested some players on Saturday for tonight's game and are really approaching it as a one-off."
Robinson is hoping the lure of cup football will draw a big crowd for the clash. "I think Hereford fans enjoy their cup football and it would be nice to have them out in force cheering us on," he said.
The Bulls' eight-match unbeaten run came to an end in lack-lustre fashion on Saturday but with a full squad to choose from Robinson is keen to put in an improved performance.
"We missed having a game in the middle of a two-week break and didn't perform," he said. "The unbeaten run had to come to an end sometime but it was a shame it happened the way it did.
"We restricted them to two efforts one of which went in but we had a number of chances but it didn't go for us."
