GRAHAM Turner is looking forward to resuming control of first team affairs at Hereford United.

The Director of Football relinquished control after a poor start to the season last year but admits he is happy to back in charge.

"Without a doubt it is something that I have missed and I'm looking forward to working with the players again," he said.

"We've got to rebuild the squad and we're down to six but that gives us the backbone of a side which I think is quite acceptable.

"Most Conference clubs would take five of the six while Scott Voice, who has been hampered by injury, still has to prove himself."

The six players committed to contracts are Matt Baker, Tony James, Paul Parry, Matt Clarke, Ian Wright and Scott Voice. Despite having just six players Turner is not worried about being able to recruit more players and believes the anticipated numbers of players set to flood the market as Football League clubs make savings, restores the upper hands to clubs.

"In the past players have been in command in terms of end of season contracts and would go to whoever paid them the most," he said.

"But now the upper hands is with the clubs and there are a lot of players coming on to the market."
