The Hereford Branch of the Arthritis Research Campaign has had a busy year by holding a number of fund raising events. We held a Bridge Drive in March which raised £130, in June the Flag Day and a Car Boot Sale raised £430 and £138. The Hereford Chamber Choir gave an excellent concert, which was warmly applauded by a packed house and raised £470. The coffee morning in the beautiful garden of Mr and Mrs Ray Boddington swelled the funds by a further £468, and a cheque for £3000 was handed to Nick Barker, area fundraising manager. This was made possible by the generosity of friends and supporters. A number of donations were also from funerals in lieu of flowers. The late Dr Jean Pritchard established the Hereford branch in September 1972. On Friday, October 17, the 30th anniversary annual general meeting will take place at 7pm at the Bishop's Palace, Hereford followed by a talk given by Professor M Salmon, experimental Rheumatologist for Birmingham University.
