Hereford United's selection problems show little sign of easing before tomorrow's Nationwide Conference trip to Welling United (3.00).
United's Director of Football Graham Turner is poised to welcome back defender Tony James to his starting line-up following a back injury.
But midfielder Ian Rodgerson and striker Steve Piearce are unlikely to make tomorrow's game or Monday's home clash with Telford United through hamstring injuries which kept them out of the 3-2 defeat at Morecambe in midweek.
With front men Paul Parry (glandular fever) and Paul Fewings (groin) still on the casualty list, Turner is left scratching around for a squad again.
Turner said: "Steve is making some progress and should be fit for next weekend and Ian is probably the same, but it is most unlikely they will be fit even for Monday."
Turner believes that their selection problems contributed to their reverse at Morecambe, which ended their unbeaten start to the season, while the dismissal of defender Matt Clarke did not help matters.
"With five out of our squad, it is a very big chunk, and we are all in it together until we get over our injury crisis.
"It didn't help matters the other night but there were other factors involved, although we probably did enough to take a point."
Currently 12th in the table with five points from four matches, the Bulls will be confident of another victory tomorrow.
Welling, who are 20th, have lost all four of their games so far, although each of them has been by a single goal.
Turner added: "It is not the best place to go -- it is a tight little ground.
"We have got to start better than we did against Morecambe, but we have enough about us if we get going to cause teams problems.
"I have been pleased with the way we have attacked teams and are creating chances -- we just have to defend a little bit better."
