A NEW project in Leominster aims to stir up happy memories.
Age Concern Leominster & District is to use the Internet as a tool to run 'Reminiscence Sessions.' The charity was chosen from hundreds of applicants nation-wide to receive a £2000 AOL Innovation in the Community Award and a year's free subscription to AOL.
The scheme was set up to help community groups and charities make the most of the Internet. Age Concern plans to use the £2,000 to purchase a laptop computer, printer, software and specialist hardware, as well as to fund staff time, so that it can use the Internet to run "reminiscence sessions" for older people.
Colette Colman of Age Concern Leominster & District said: "The Internet is a fantastic resource for helping people to reminisce about past memories and friends from school or the forces, for example, and we look forward to the sessions bringing pleasure to many people."
