THE Bank Holiday will see Ledbury transformed into a party town as the annual carnival returns.
This year's event is based around a Country theme and will see more traditional rural pursuits and entertainment take centre stage on Bank Holiday Monday.
One of the highlights of the event is the procession through the town. The parade starts at noon from Ledbury Rugby Club and travels through the centre of town to Ledbury Primary School. It will be led by a traditional Hereford bull and the Ledbury Hunt, ahead of a variety of country-themed floats.
Music is provided by well-loved Somerset veterans The Yetties, Malvern folk band That Shallot and The Malvern Samba Band. The Welsh Piping Society Marching Band will also make the trip up from Cardiff and the Appleyard and Ledbury Festival Dance Troupe will provide more local entertainment.
The groups can be seen around the town, alternating between Leadon Bank, on a stage by the Market House on the High Street, St Katherine's car park and at The Talbot on New Street.
Stalls of varying descriptions will line the streets, from trade stands to charities and food from ice cream to a pig roast will be available.
There will be a fair in Bye Street and horticultural show in the Community Centre.
Carnival committee chairman Steve Clegg said: "The carnival creates a lovely friendly atmosphere and I hope everyone joins in and enjoys themselves."
Fundraiser Rosie Ford encouraged as many people as possible to join in with the procession.
"Bring your tractor, Land Rover, dog, dress up and show your support!" she said.
