Eastnor III hung on to second spot in the Hereford Times H&DCL Division Two with their 29 run victory over Shire Bulls.
SHIRE BULLS v EASTNOR III
Electing to bat Eastnor lost Nick Haggar in the first over, well caught by Allan off his own bowling, before Adam McTear (18) and Martin Loveridge (16) put on 42 runs for the second wicket before both fell in consecutive overs.
Hamish Grundy and Josh Emery added further runs before skipper John Taylor hit a swift 30, also falling to a fine caught and bowled by Allan. Sam Beale stubbornly resisted the attack as Tim Febery (23no) kept runs flowing to remain with the villagers totalling 132.
Eastnor's 12-year-old attack of Sam Beale and Josh Emery bowled well with just 19 runs coming from eight overs. A change in bowling saw Hamish Grundy immediately successful, bowling Allen for 21.
Bob Turner frustrated the bowlers and he and Colin Jones took the total on to 61 in 22 overs. Another bowling change also worked as Carl Wildig (3-14)first had Turner caught by Emery, and then clean bowled Waring. Loveridge bowled Carter and a fine catch by Grundy gave Wildig his third wicket. Josh Emery's patience was finally rewarded by taking the scalp of the Bulls' captain Jones for victory.
