CANON Frome were invited to bat by visitors, Leominster and suffered an early blow when Harry Orgee was bowled for nought.
CANON FROME v LEOMINSTER
When Rob Mence, Andy Rogers and Nick Dallow had all been the dismissed, the home side had stuttered to 40-4 from 18 overs.
Andrew Duddell was joined by Matt Richards who had a nervy start to his innings but following Duddell's departure for 23 (six fours), Richards began to flourish striking five fours and three sixes before he fell three short of his half century.
The father and son combination of Calvin and Simon Cottrell put together a partnership of 26 before Simon fell for 27. Charlie Barnett stroked a boundary before being bowled, leaving Calvin Cottrell and Alan Mawby to see the innings out, Mawby being run out off the last ball of the innings for 11 with Cottrell remaining 21no as Frome were all out for 174.
Leominster's reply started as well as Frome's had done with Barrington falling to Andy Rogers for four. Howells and Nick Palmer began to score freely but fell to Calvin Cottrell and Barnett, bringing Russell Palmer to the crease.
Palmer had taken 5-32 in the home side's innings and now began to flay the bowling as well. His dismissal for 66 came a little too late for Frome, despite a three-wicket spell for Nick Dallow and another wicket for Rogers.
Leominster ran out victors by three wickets with 12 overs left.
