I AM sure this will not be the only letter you will get in reply to the one last week re disabled parking at the hospital.
My husband has had to attend a number of times in the last 14 months.
He is confined to a wheelchair (our own) and drives a car which we had converted to hand controls, at our own expense.
We would be quite willing to park in an ordinary space and pay but there is not enough room to transfer from car to wheelchair.
We always arrive at least half an hour before the appointment time and wait if there is not a disabled space available.
The most we have had to wait is about 15 minutes. If the disabled are to be charged (last week's Hereford Times) will there be a suitable ticket machine nearby? Imagine someone may be on sticks or elbow crutches having to try and stand to put money in and get a ticket and then get back to the car to display it.
Maybe we should just book a hospital car - milk the system and let someone else have the hassle.
Maybe if Mrs Jones is ever unfortunate enough to become disabled it might make her more tolerant of others.
