WELSH Water has been forced to delay its upgrading of the water mains network in the Sellack area.
A previous phase of refurbishment has taken longer to complete than expected, due to demand during the heat wave.
This has put the start date for the Sellack scheme back to September but preparatory work will be carried out during the last week of August.
The scheme will involve renewing 22km of water mains in Foy, Sellack, Bridstow, Hoarwithy, and Kings Caple. It is due to be completed by early 2004.
The first phase of work will begin in Hoarwithy, and then in Bridstow.
Temporary traffic lights and road closures will be in operation throughout the scheme.
A public exhibition will be held at Kings Caple Village Hall tonight (Thursday) between 7 and 8pm.
