LAND'S End to John o'Groats in the shortest time possible is the new fundraising endeavour for the Taste for Adventure Centre.

Archie Scott, contemporary of ex-SAS Everest summiteer, 'Brummie' Stokes, founder of the Taste for Adventure Centre in Credenhill, is all limbered up and due to start his epic cycle ride from Cornwall's tip tomorrow, raising as much money as he can through sponsorship for the charity for less privileged young people.

Supported by Bronco Lane, TFAC's event organiser, who will be driving the van, and refuelling Archie as and when necessary, the bike ride is due to start at 7.30am.

Having been undergoing rigorous training for the past three months, in and around Herefordshire and the West Midlands, Archie's aim is to do the ride as quickly as he can.

Target

Pitting himself against the elements, and having to take wind, rain and road conditions into consideration, he hopes to cover between 120 and 150 miles a day. All going well, Archie plans to be in Hereford on the second day.

To raise money on this charitable bike ride, postcards depicting Archie's epic journey challenge potential participants to guess the mileage Archie will be doing.

They will then be sent back to Taste for Adventure Centre for final analysis and assessment. The winner will be awarded the prize of a canoe trip down the River Wye for 10 people!

The cards are on sale at all the bicycle shops throughout Herefordshire, the Map Centre, and Explore in Hereford itself, as well as small garages and village shops throughout the county.
