HEREFORDSHIRE Under-12 rounded off a fine season with exciting victories over Shropshire and Cardiff & The Vale in their last two representative matches.
A patient and well crafted 37 from Owen Morgan was instrumental in Herefordshire reaching a challenging 107 and a fine spell from off-spinner Ben George (5-24) helped skittle out Shropshire for 99 in a tense, low-scoring match. Herefordshire deserved their narrow win after an excellent bowling and fielding display.
Josh Emery (29) and Danny Barling (22) were the leading run-makers as Herefordshire posted an impressive 161 in their final match against Cardiff & The Vale.
Matthew Biggs (2-2) and all-rounder Emery (2-15) then shone with the ball for Hereford-shire and the Welshmen were dismissed for 114.
