THREE Knills have become the first host team to win Hereford Welsh Club's Six-a-Side Knockout in the 22-year history of the popular skittles competition.
They overcame Evans SC by eight pjns in the final to collect the £300 prize and shield, while runners-up Evans received £150.
Keith Scott steered Three Knills to victory with the top score of 53, which included a 17 and 10 spare, as they rattled up legs of 88, 89 and 79 for a 256 total. Evans replied with 81, 88 and 79 for 248 in a close game and their top scorer was Kevin Lane with a 13 and 11 in his 45.
Press Gang beat Sheds R in the third-place play-off and they received £50 and £30 respectively.
Ledbury Ladies B beat The Sparks by five pins in the ladies' final, collecting £40 to £20.
Highest individual scorers Phil Young (Dad's Army) and Carolyn Jaworek (Pan's People) each received £25 in the men's and women's sections.
