LEE Shingler created a little piece of history when he licked the opposition at an evening of competitions devoted to the wonderful world of stamp collecting.
Mr Shingler, of Hereford, swept the board at the event organised by the Hereford and Mid Wales Philatelic Society.
He not only won the President's Cup for traditional philately and the Founder's Trophy for postal history but also claimed the Thematic Cup.
It was the first time in the club's 25-year history that all three competitions have been won by the same person.
Meanwhile, new president John Crouch, of Bromyard, will open the society's new season at St Martin's Parish Hall, in Ross Road, Hereford, on Wednesday September 3.
During the evening, which starts at 7.15pm, there will be a display of stamps, postcards and postal history connected with the letters A, B and C.
