I AM writing to express my feelings towards the public buses in Hereford. I am 17 years old and live with my parents in Wellington.
They decided to go to France for three weeks. I was unable to attend. Therefore, whenever I needed to travel anywhere, the bus is the only way, as I can't drive. I regularly need to travel into Hereford as I have a part-time job there. I catch the 492 bus which is at 8.30am and arrives at the Shire Hall at 8.56am, just enough time to get to work. That is if it arrives on time. It arrived at Wellington 8.45am, 15 minutes late, therefore I was late for work.
When I finish work at 6pm the only bus home is at 7.30pm.So, I already have to wait around for a hour and a half for it. It did not arrive, I was still waiting at 8.30pm, and in the end had to get a taxi back costing me almost £15 - money I don't have.
This is without mentioning the bus that should be at Wellington at 9.25am on Sunday. I was walking up towards the bus stop, seeing the 492 rush past me, at my dismay I checked my watch, which read 9.18am. It didn't even stop as I tried to flag it down.
What is wrong with the bus drivers in Hereford? Can none of them tell the time?
