CAN somebody please tell me why the authorities are hell bent on destroying our city?
New business wants to invest - (ASDA story August 7) - but yet again the dilatory manner in which the authorities deal with the application results in ASDA potentially withdrawing. The long awaited ring road/bypass, how many more generations will be talking about it, rather than using it.
What about a new shopping mall to compete against local cities Worcester, Cheltenham and Cardiff?
Rather than forcing citizens to travel (on poor roads until over the county boundary) let's make it attractive for shopping and tourism keeping that disposable income spend within. The only types of building the authorities approve are yet more and more houses without the infrastructure to support these homes. When was a new school built?
Enough is enough.
Especially when over the county boundary we see investment in all the amenities Hereford is lacking. I am proud to say I come from this fine city, but lack of investment is driving all our young people away and the end result is quite plain for all to see. The city will die and become a total nonentity of no industry, poor shopping with cheap housing as people relocate to more prosperous areas. I call upon the citizens to challenge and fight for all the services, infrastructure and amenities those other towns and cities have or are providing for their residents and visitors.
