A Hereford brewery is celebrating this year's Hereford Three Choirs Festival by creating a beer to be sold in aid of Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust.

Spinning Dog Brewery of St Owen Street has brewed a special batch of Three Dog Bitter in tribute to the three cathedral cities of Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester.

Jim Kenyon, owner of the brewery, described the beer as being 'full-bodied with an amber colour while only using the finest Herefordshire hops.'

"I am delighted to be able to do my bit to help celebrate this great musical event and support the restoration of the cathedral," said Jim when delivering two of the first barrels to the Organist's House as a special gift for the lay clerks.

"I know that it's going to be a hard, hot week of singing for all involved and I am sure that this will help their vocal chords."

A donation of 10 pence for every pint drunk will be donated to Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust and, with plans for over 100 barrels to be brewed, this will mean a donation in excess of £700 in support of the restoration.
