Hereford United's impressive start to the season has seen their odds to lift the Nationwide Conference tumble.

The Bulls entertain Morecambe today on the back of wins against Tamworth and For-est Green Rovers which has seen bookmakers cut prices as low as 10-1 with some on-line bookies. Chester remain favourites at prices between 7-2 and 9-2.

Forest Green manager Colin Addison was suitably impressed after his side's 5-1 defeat at the hands of Hereford to name them as genuine promotion favourites.

"Hereford are certainly a team to be reckoned with this season," he said.

"They played some excellent football and scored some great goals and are a team to be reckoned with this season and I congratulate them and Graham Turner on a great performance. They absolutely whipped us and I haven't got any complaint about it. The score was right."

Meanwhile Bulls' boss Graham Turner has spoken of his intervention in a minor crowd disturbance at Tamworth last weekend.

Turner stepped in as peacekeeper shortly before the interval amid fears it could turn nasty.

The Hereford boss left his position on the touchline to speak to the United followers during some unruly scenes in which Tamworth stewards and the police battle to restrain two small factions of rival 'fans' in the far corner of the ground.

Speaking after the match, Turner said: "It was a case of trying to calm the supporters down. I saw one of two supporters from the Hereford end come over the wall and it looked like a very ugly and aggressive mood in that corner.

"The message from our supporters was that stones were being thrown at them from outside the ground - something I informed the police about."
