HISTORIC Whitbourne Hall is being opened to the public.

The hall, built in the 1850s, is currently home to around 20 separate occupants who are raising money for the conservation of the building.

They are trying to raise around £200,000 to complete major repairs at the site.

The house will be open from 11am to 5pm on Sunday, August 31.

Attractions will include bric-a-brac and cake stalls, tombola, cream teas and home-made produce. Tours of the house and grounds will also be held.

Entrance costs £2.50, 50p for children and £1.50 for OAPs. Proceeds go towards the conservation of the house.
