A LEDBURY family is celebrating two successful officers in their fold, although there has been no military tradition before now.
Last week, William Naylor, aged 21, graduated from Sandhurst and is now looking forward to a posting to Munster in Germany as a 2nd Lieutenant with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
His older brother, Stuart, aged 37, was there for the big day, down from a Tornado base at Lossiemouth in Scotland.
He has just returned from the Gulf, where he served with No 12 bomber squadron as a flight lieutenant.
William is due to travel out to Germany for his first posting this November.
Meanwhile, a Powick woman has successfully completed a leadership training course at Sandhurst College and will be in charge of her own platoon.
Former Chase High School pupil Athena Christodoulou, 23, passed out from the college after a year spent completing basic training.
The former pupil of the Chase High School will soon start an eight-week young officers' training course in Aldershot.
She will then travel to Germany to join the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers as a platoon leader.
