A bingo night has been held in memory of a popular Ledbury couple who both died unexpectedly from heart attacks within 13 months of each other.
The money raised, a total of £450, goes to the Ledbury Ambulance Service for the efforts the crews made to save both Robert Baker, who died in May 2002, aged 54, and his wife, Christine, who died suddenly in June this year, also aged 54. The couple lived in Oatleys Terrace.
The fundraising event, which attracted around 50 people to Bosbury Village Hall last Friday, was organised by close family friends, with the full backing of the couple's family.
As well as the bingo, money was raised through a raffle, with the prizes provided by a number of Ledbury businesses.
Mrs Baker's sister, Valerie Smith, also of Oatleys Terrace, said: "It was something very well appreciated by the family."
