ON a blazing hot afternoon, stand in Eastnor skipper Dave Entwhistle lost the toss, and unsurprisingly was asked to field.
EASTNOR II v OMBERSLEY II
Phillips looked dangerous from the start, and it was no surprise when he clean bowled the top-four batsmen, for just five runs.
Tom Hurrell, from the other end, was bowling a tight line, and was unlucky. Marc Wildig came on, and he too bowled well, and held onto a good catch off his own bowling.
Hurrell then replaced Phillips and his luck seemed to change. His pace bowling scared the Ombersley batsmen, just as the speed of Phillips had done, and took three good wickets to just about end any chance for the visitors.
Phillips was re-introduced, and mopped up the tail in just three balls, taking his best ever figures of 5-15.
Eastnor were left chasing just 126, and got off to a great start with Dave Jones taking on the opening bowlers. He played his shots all around the park, and was unlucky to end up five short of his first 50 of the season.
Jon Peplow returned to form with a good knock of 39, and it was left to skipper Dave Entwhistle to score the winning runs, with a rapid 13 not out.
