PENCOMBE people originally invited to discover more about the history of their homes found out far more than that, during a village history day. Bromyard History Society put on extensive displays including a survey, maps, old documents and early photographs as well as census indexes at the Wheelwrights pub. One woman even arrived with wedding pictures of her grand-parents - which had never been seen before by the history club - after she spotted an article on the history day in the Hereford Times a few weeks ago. Sue Clark from the Wheelwrights said: "The pub was very busy. It is the first time we have done this but we hope that we could repeat it some time in the future. The history society worked very hard to put on a display specifically aimed at Pencombe."
