HEREFORDSHIRE CCC have drafted in fast bowler James Brinkley for their final Minor Counties Championship match of the season against Cornwall at Luctonians' Kingsland ground, starting Sunday.
Brinkley last played for Herefordshire in the ECB 38 Counties Cup final triumph over Cheshire at Lord's in 2000 and has since been attached to Durham and, more recently, Scotland in the National League.
The 29-year-old comes in for Paul Thomas as the only change in the county line-up from the rain-affected draw with Cheshire at the end of July.
Although both the home team and Cornwall are unbeaten, neither is within a chance of claiming the Western Division title, which Herefordshire lifted last season.
That is likely to be decided by the top-of-the-table clash between Berkshire and visiting Devon, but Cheshire are still within striking distance and play Shropshire.
Herefordshire: Chris Boroughs, Harshad Patel, Rob Hughes, Ismail Dawood, Ravi Nagra, Karl Pearson, Matthew Rawnsley, Martin McCague, Simon Roberts, Kevin Cooper, James Brinkley.
