THERE could be a swarm at Busy Bees Nursery and Pre-School, Clifford, for the first opening of its hive to the public on Sunday from 2pm.
The open day comes at the end of two years' work by a dedicated committee who decided the children using Clifford Community Centre should have a hive of their own. A £97,000 lottery grant from the Community Fund made it possible, together with £1,000 from the John Smith's Charity, £1,500 from the Co-op Community Fund, £2,300 from The Countryside Agency and £1,600 from The New Opportunity Fund.
The Beehive, a nursery with outdoor play areas, is due to open on September 8 for two to five-year-olds. There will be a breakfast and after school club for children aged up to 11. More information is available from Vicky Havers on 01497 820930.
