AN open-air party will be held to celebrate the official opening of Ledbury's new skatepark.
The Mayor of Ledbury, Keith Francis, will cut the ribbon among the fun, games and refreshments at the Kickflip skatepark in the market town's recreational ground. The much sought-after facility received funding from Advantage West Midlands, Herefordshire Council and Ledbury Town Council and was built by local firm Playworld Systems.
The entertainment gets underway at 10.30am on Saturday, August 16.
Meanwhile, hopes for Hereford's indoor skateboard park appear to have hit stumbling blocks. Steven Miles, who plans to run the Aylestone Hill centre, said: "Things are tied up with solicitors at the moment, so I can't see anything happening for a couple of months."
