ABBEYDORE'S summer fair this weekend promises to transport visitors to delights old and new with a rare chance to see championship winning rally cars and antique tractors.
The cars belong to village resident John Price, veteran of over 750 rallies and 10-times winner of the British National Tarmac Championship.
On show will be last year's winning MG Metro 6R4 and a Renault 5 maxi turbo - one of only 20 ever made.
Both cars were hand-built by John and his son Stephen at John Price Rallying in Wormbridge and the father-and-son-team will be on hand together with their complete rally outfit.
The vehicle theme continues with local enthusiast Clive Smith's display of vintage tractors, engines and horticultural implements.
Clive's lovingly restored antique Ferguson, David Browns, International and sheep shearing equipment will all be on view.
All this alongside Abbeydore's traditional summer attractions - cream teas, Gwatkin cider, children's fancy dress, bouncy castle, welly wanging, and a sensational parachute drop promises a truly spectacular afternoon for all who come along.
Set in the idyllic surroundings of the Old Rectory field next to the world famous Dore Abbey, Abbeydore's Sunday Spectacular is on Sunday at 2pm with free entry and parking.
