A LEADING all-round display from Robin Michael proved influential in Ewyas Harold's three-wicket home win over Lads Club in a top-of-the-table clash in the Hereford Times Hereford and District League Division 1.

Bryan Caffelle top scored with 54 for visiting Lads Club who were shot out for a disappointing 120 in the 44th over by Michael (3-28), Dave Hope (3-31) and Alan Davies (2-18).

Michael then led the way with the bat for Harold, striking a stylish 56, but the villagers collapsed from 89-1 to 104-7. However, Roger Chapman (8 not out) and Andy Bishop remained firm for Harold and steered them home without any further alarm in 38 overs.

K Roberts instigated the home side's collapse with a fine return of 4-26, but it was a satisfying win for Harold who avenged a 10-wicket drubbing by Lads Club earlier in the season.

Bosbury, who are also challenging for the title, recorded a comprehensive eight-wicket away win over struggling Bishop's Frome.

Good bowling performances from C Hill (3-10), J Owen (2-19) and S Davies (2-24) skittled out lowly Frome for 128.

Bosbury made light work of reaching the target, and were steered to the target by Luke Ledbury (58) and Merv Carless (45 not out).

Andrew Mawdsley blasted 131 not out as reigning champions St Martin's amassed 352-3 in a crushing 221-run home win over Strollers.
