FULL details have now been released for Herefordshire's second art week - known as h.Art - which takes place in September (13-21).
Deemed a huge success after its inaugural outing by artists and visitors alike, h.Art has expanded exponentially from its first outing. During the nine days, over 50 artists' studios will be open to the public the length and breadth of Herefordshire. This year also sees a huge increase in the number of special events and exhibitions taking place: 28 in total, in some of the county's most impressive buildings - as well as in a host of more intimate spaces.
Unveiling
At the hub of it all, the main h.Art Open Exhibition takes place at Hereford's Left Bank Village showing the work of 21 of the county's most exciting fine artists, with a brand new piece of public art commissioned from installation artist Nicola Morriss to be unveiled for the first time outside the exhibition. Most of the county's existing galleries and craft shops are also taking part.
"Following its highly successful debut, h.Art has really taken off this year with many more artists taking part through open studios or special exhibitions," said Kate Bull, who co-ordinates h.Art on behalf of Herefordshire Council's Cultural Services.
